Hit me with your best shot

Hey all, ain't been hanging out here much since finances forced the sale of my Iroc.
I am bolting together a 350 for my DD S10,wanted anyone's suggestions.
I bought a 350 core,010 block w/ 4 bolt mains.I figured it needed the whole works, but after I pulled the pan and heads,I found a diamond in the rough. The bearings were like new, crank smooth as glass,no ridge in the cylinders, this thing must have still been a strong engine.
I'm sticking this thing together on a VERY strict budget, but I think it will be a fun little driver.
I kept it simple, honed the cylinders, cam bearings, new rod/mains and rings, kept the stock dished pistons, they hang about .010 in the hole.I'm running the dreaded swirl port 305 heads, because I have them and they are fresh.I stuck in an XE274 Comp hydraulic cam,and topped it off with a Weiand Stealth. An Edelbrock 750 will feed it.
Now I know the heads suck, and an Edelbrock is anything but my favorite carb, but I've got this stuff,it's bolted down, and I'm gonna use it.
What's anyone's guess on compression?I've got it figured at 10.2:1,is that correct?Any guesses on power #s?I'm thinking I may hang my little truck on a dyno after christmas, just to see how much power can be made from leftover parts and $245 of cash.I know it's not gonna be unreal, but should make a fun little driver.Yes,I know that the cam will be pretty rumpity,I don't mind that in a DD,as long as it's fun to drive!

yea, the 305 TBI heads and compxe274 don't match up well - low RPM heads, and higher RPM cam.
If there's any way possible to swap out the heads (or cam, since it is going into a truck app, perhaps a smaller cam would be better suited?) i'd do that.

But if you do get it dyno'd, be sure to post here.

I know it's a far from ideal setup, but I'm using stuff that I have. The heads have fitted with 1.94/1.5 valves, and I've got the crappy little shorty headers. If I can pull 330hp out of it,I'll be more than happy.Should make for an enjoyable commuter, anything in the 300hp range will be fun in a 2600lb. ride.

i do not believe those 305 heads will even support the lift of that cam unless it was modified for higher lift....did you look into that at all?

They were previously modified, had an Xtreme4x4 cam in the last engine they were on.Nice call though,I have seen that kind of stuff overlooked on more than one occasion.
A buddy of mine called me a few weeks ago, said his new engine in his Vega wouldn't even turn over. You could roll it a little, then it stopped. When I asked him about his valve to piston clearance,he was kind of quiet for a second, and said, what's that?Who would have thought there would be clearance issues with a .620 lift roller cam and domed pistons?LOL
