Voltage regulator location
Hey guys,
Where would the voltage regulator be located in a 91 GTA? I'm thinking it's going bad, but not sure where to look.

yep. it's in the alt. There are rebuild kits for them that do include it. although finding one is not always the easiest thing.. I need to rebuild mine.. but no shop around here sells the kits anymore... thier excuse "well no one rebuilds them anymore, it's more of an old car thing" ... apparently people would rather buy one for $160+ rather than spend the $30 to buy the repair kits and rebuild thier alt.. it's not that hard to do...

Oh ok, I'm having this problem where my voltage meter has a low reading...a few notches below 13. My dash lights become dim, windows come down slow, even the idle is erratic. It seems like the car want's to die at times. If I stomp on it and get some speed, it seems like the voltage goes to normal, and she runs better. It's almost like i'm charging something up when I go at high speeds. What else could be doing this? The alternator is new, new cap , rotor, wires, coil and module is not even a year old, I can't figure it out. What do you guys think?

I checked the battery, it looks fine at 12 volts. Do you guys think low voltage can cause an erratic idle too?
