It's listed as "turbo diesel truck formula" but I run it in my car... engine has around 2500 miles on it. Is there anything wrong with using an oil "intended" for a diesel?

The only thing I saw on this was one post where there was the posibility of the chemcals in the oil degrading the catalytic converter.

I have also seen posts that this was good oil to break in a new motor with.

I have no personal experience. However I was thinking of using Shell Rotella 15W-40 to break in my new motor.

I use diesel oil in my 350, although not synthetic. Diesel oils are typically better for non-roller engines than gas engine oil is, because most gas engine oil is now designed to work best with roller engines, and because of the 'design' changes to the oil, they don't protect flat tappet engines very well anymore. This is not the case with diesel oil. It still has all the good additives in it, like zinc, that protect metal-on-metal parts, like non-roller lifters. If you are using a roller engine, theres really not alot to gain by going to a synthetic diesel oil, as opposed to a synthetic gas engine oil.
