83 factory ram air

Hi,
I just picked up an 83 TA with Factory ram air. I have a few questions for whomever has a similiar setup.

1) Their seems to be a long thin plastic hose that was in the back seat that I think hooks somehow to the ram air. Does anyone know where theis long thin black tube goes under the hood or better yet does anyone have a picture of their setup?

2) how does it work? I know it opens when you are on the throttle but how can i test it to see if it works? I have the factory service manual but I don't see anything on this subject. There seems to be a solenoid, a black tube, vacuum hoses, etc. that are all hooked to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Pictures of what you have would be a big help.

I remember a little of that setup- only available on carbureted cars in the early years. The rear-facing hood scoop, offset to the driver's side like later Formula cars, had a round outlet near the middle of the hood, just to the driver's side that mated up with the (special) top lid of the factory air cleaner that had a matching round or oval hole in the top. There was a short rubber boot that sealed the two of them together when the hood was closed. Sorry, that's all I remember about that setup.

I beleive there was a flapper somewhere (in the scoop itself?) that was only open when you were near WOT. No idea if it was electrically or vacuum operated.
