mechanical fuel pump questions

Just out of sheer morbid curiosity, does anyone know the flow rate (say in GPH) or a stock style mechanical fuel pump? I guess the Carter M6626?

Also, is it possible to get a mechanical fuel pump that puts out more than 8psi such that you can use it, with a regulator, to fuel forced induction?

Thanks

I think it's somewhere around 65 GPH or so for a stock pump.

Racing pumps usually put out around 12 psi or so.

hmm, ok, so definately not up to the task overcoming forced induction pressures.
ok, thanks.

It depends what kind of forced induction you're planning on using. If it's draw-through, there's no pressure to overcome.

oh, yea right, draw through like a roots blower eh?
Yea, I was thinking a blow through turbo.

Is my 65gph suitable for my medium 350, and up? Or should I be considering an upgrade in the future?

You'd probably be good for a while.

If you needed more pressure from a mechanical pump, you'd probably use a piston pump instead of a stock type diaphragm pump. Quick Fuel has one that's good for 60 psi and 200 gph.
