LT-1 A/C cycles too fast

I have installed a 1992 Corvette LT-1 in my 87 IROC. I used the corvette's compressor, and new 87 camaro parts for everything else. A local shop charged it up with R-134. The compressor will run for maybe 7 to 10 seconds and then cylce off.........the air blows cold inside the car.........but i've never had a car that cycyled so fast- it just seems wrong. The shop has looked for leaks and says all's well- pressure is just right..........has anyone else had this problem and do you know of a solution- I have also changed the pressure cycle switch twic with brand new ones........ Thanks

Gotta be low on freon, which is why your cycling. Only reason it would cycle that fast

Depeding on the ambient temperature, interior heat load, etc, It MIGHT be completely normal. On a 80* day at idle, my Dual A/C unit cycles every 15-20 seconds and blows ice cold, it is not low though. Rough rule of thumb is to take a gauge reading on the high side, it should be around 2x ambient + 50*, obviously the more air flow across the condensor and the larger the condensor the lower it will be. Don't forget that the compressor can cycle on the high side cut-out as well, that is BAD!

"high cycle cutout" is that the smaller switch in the line near the battery? I pulled the plug off of that one and the a/c wouldn't run at all, then I jumped it and ran it and it was back to the usual short cycle. I have also ONLY run this a/c system in sept and oct and it has not been hot at all around here........
