i vote keep the 4 barrel. the efi is a pain in the azz and would cost you quite a bit to install.
as for hp, nearly everyone i have talked to says the tpi hurts hp. yes i know not all agree but the ones telling me this base it on actual racing experience.
not to fuel dragsters but racing none the less.
with the carb no chip issues when you change something. car doesn't run? check the spark, is it getting gas, and is it getting air. end of story.
efi car won't run? your screwed. start with the air temp sensor? how bout the map sensor? how bout the fuel pressure regulator? and on and on and on and on. how bout it does't run right....well start checking each of the injectors, heck there's only 8 so at least it's not a v12. how bout the high pressure fuel pump, that just for fun is mounted inside the gas tank. well if you don't get the message by now there's no point in contiuning. if you did, then i don't need to type anymore anyway.
ya'll have a nice nite.

If you take the time to properly tune the TPI it will blow the doors off a carbed car.
Since your talking 305 the fact that the TPI doesnt flow too well isnt as big of an issue.
The big differences between them would be the TPI making gobs of torque down low and falling on its face in the higher RPMs but getting decent mileage. Whereas the carb may not be getting as high of numbers but wont fall flat on its face above 4000RPM
Its your call, i also say stick to carb because of the simplicity.
