A FEW QUESTINS I NEED HELP MAYBE SOME ONE CAN HELP

OK FIRS OF ALL I HAVE A 87 IROC WITH A 86 305 IN IT (4BBL) I JUST REBUILT IT WITH SOME HEADERS, INTAKE ECT.
WELL WHEN I DID I WAS STUPID NOT TO REPLACE THE OIL PUMP AND NOW I AM PAYING THE PRICE
SO THE QUESTION IS IF I TAKE THE MOTOR MOUNTS LOOSE AND TAKE OUT THE DIST. OR TAKE THE CAP OFF WOULD I BE ABLE TO JACK THE ENGINE UP ENOUGH TO GET THE OIL PAN OFF TO REPLACE IT (ANY ONE EVER TRIED?)
SECOND QUESTION IS MY CAR WONT GO PAST 120 MPH IT USTO BE A TPI ENGINE IN THERE AND NOW IT IS A CARB.
SO IS THE DIST. POWER WIRE RUN THREW THE COMPUTER BOX?
AND STOPPING ME FROM GOING FASTER?
HO DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM
THANKS
NICK

Yes, you can remove the pan to get to the oil pump as you described.

Common sense should keep you from going over 120 mph (assuming this is not on a closed course intended for such activity). But, there is nothing factory installed that is limiting it as currently wired per your description.

Does it cut out at the same engine RPM in any gear, or only in high gear?

What have you done for fuel delivery?

uh

it is fine at any outher gear
some one told me that if the factory computer is still installed in the car that it is where the power wire for the dist. coil comes from and it might be causing it to break the power to the coil when it gets to 120 but i dont know
it has a intank fuel pump (so i was told) and a mech. pump on the side of the engine
nick
i am also building a 383 stroker to go in this car (in the future) and was wondering what is the highest compression ratio i could rum on regular unleded, premium, super, 110 octane ect.
thanks
