383 stroker /zz4 crate motor

Hey guys - I haven't been on this board in about a year, lol.

Well, I blew the bottom end of my ZZ4 (50K miles) and there is enough damage that i am seriously considering going with a 383 stroker.
Most people recommend Eagle kits, and I don't have an unlimited budget, so I was looking into what additional costs there will be.

The car is already beefed up, and I have a Super Ram intake and a Comp cam above, so I am looking to make over 400 HP with this setup.

Comments, suggestions?

I'm going through a 383 build right now. I bought a kit from CNC Motorsports. Good guys to deal with. 5.7 H-beams,forged crank, srp forged flat tops. If your block is good,Clearance pan rails for stroke, small base circle cam,new oil pan or BFH on stock pan etc. I bought an internally balanced assembly from them but I am having my machinest check it with the HB and the FW. If you plan on building it yourself,be sure to check all of your clearances. The Eagle kits are good kits for the money, but My machinest is "massaging" some of the rods due to clearance issues. If you go for it,good luck on the build

Sorry to hear that. I understand you wanting more cubes go for it.Eagle assemblys are good.I have seen alot of guys use them.400hp out of a 383 is a joke. Pocket port the zz4 heads and run a cam in the 215-224 dur. and your there.

no $hit. just pay attention to the clearances on the pan rail, and double check everything or you'll be pulling it all out again. otherwise, it'll live a long and happy life.

Damn, you blew your ZZ4 bottom end? How'd you do that? Kinda makes me worry. I've got the crate engine with about 25k on it now. I hope it lasts me past 50k miles...
