I guess that's the best way to describe it. If I'm just cruising down the highway, which I usually do about 70-80mph, almost right at 70 the engine seems to hesitate for a moment or two and then it will keep on to higher speeds. The car runs okay otherwise, and there are no dash lights or anything. If I'm hard on the gas it will blow right by 70 no problem, this only during a gradual acceleration. And if I stay right at 70 the car feels like something is wrong, sluggish even, but not like a misfire (this is hard to explain). Anyone have any clue what may cause something like this? Any help is appriciated.

 

Any stored codes? If you can buy or borrow a scan tool to see what is going on when it happens. What RPM is the engine turning when this happens? Does it happen in other gears at that RPM. If not it may be a problem with the torque conveter lockup.

 

Nah, checked at work, no codes. You know I'm not sure what RPM's and I'll try to keep it out of overdrive next time to see if that changes anything, but I usually cruise around 2k. I won't be driving for a bit though the engine is the least of my worries, driving home last night I lost all my brake fluid on the highway, blew a line or something. Thanks for the input.

 

If it does, then it could be a "dead spot" in the TPS. Easy to check (& probably easy to fix, although I haven't had to yet...)
