Please help!!!!!should I buy...........................

Recently a 1991 camaro rs with a 305 v8 was offered to me for $2200, it has a dent in the drivers side front fender, (no biggie) the interior has normal wear for that year and the car runs good.I want to get some numbers on the car before I buy it such as 1/4 mile time, 0-60 time, top speed and hp/tq so if any one has info on this sort of thing please post fast need to know by tomarrow because I have to decide tomarrow!! Thankyou!!!!!!!!!

ok, do a search, maybe you did not know about the feature or what not but... whatever... Condition and wear on the engine will make a big difference on the HP/ TQ readings. And since 1/4 mile is based off of how much power nothing is for certain. Stock the numbers are: 170HP@4000rpm, 255ft/lbs TQ@2400rpm If it is an auto it will have the non posi 2.73 rearend If it is a manual it will have a nonposi 3.08 rearend. Remember the power numbers are for at the CRANK not at the wheels. So take a probably 20% off of those numbers to get it at the wheels but that is just an estimate... If i were you i would not buy the car just because you want to try and beat a different car... That is not a good reason. The car is NOT fast whatsoever and will take a good amount of work to get it to be respectable in that regard. If you want to see who would theoritcally win in a race check the racing forums. Oh and as for top speed, its probably up there, with those 2.73 gears and an overdrive tranny but im not certain if you have a speed limiter on your car, i would not suggest taking the car to its top speed EVER on a public highway.

Unless your 100% sure youll be happy with the 305, just find a 350 car now.
Unless you got space and time to pull engine and swap parts like cams heads n what not..... You will get allot farther and spend lessby just holding out for the 350 now.

I wouldn't pay $2000 though $1800 tops, why, just a 305 with a dent.
Being a 91 means squat. Just a tad different nose. Still a 3rd gen.

You can get 4ths for $3-4000 with these gas prices.

I hate to be a safety **** but speed limiters are put on the cars so you can't go faster then the tires are rated for, when it was sold new.

All tires have speed ratings. The spinning action wants to rip them suckers apart and you would be wise to not run 140 on 85mph rated tires for very long.

Why some good tires are "cheap".
They cheap out on the nylon n stuff and have a very low speed rating.
They got the same name as the top line but have a different speed rating.
Why them firestone roll over things happened. Under inflated tires come apart for the same reason.

I run Z rated tires 165+MPH with 4 nylon bands.
5/6-50psi rating with no deformation.
