compcam xe268h with tpi 110* or 114* lsa
For the time being, I decided to use my 350 later on building the 415. So I figured this is an temporary step I'm going use a flat tappet in the block. My question is about the compcam xe268h cam, there is two, one with a lsa of 110* and the other is 114* with the other specs. being the same. Would it be okay to use the 110 cam with the maf tpi computer or would it be hard to tune. I'm planning on using pcmforless for the tuning. Thanks
Recommend 114 deg LSA since you're getting a mail order tune. If you're willing to burn your own chips I'd select the one that best complements the heads and exhaust. The better the flow of your exhaust port and downstream exhaust the less you need to rely on overlap to clear the chamber of the residual exhaust gas after combustion.
Your probably right, I just needed a second opionion, I think i'm going to use the afr heads that i have. So it could more than likely handle the 110* lobe, but i figured that the less overlap would help on fuel economy also. Thanks for replying.

Less overlap meaning the 114 LSA cam, then yes, that is correct. The 110 LSA cam will have a rouger idle, be harder to tune, and get worse gas mileage. 112-114 LSA cams are better for EFI engines like ours. The 110 LSA cams are only worth 10-15 horsepower at the top end, but they give up 10-15 in the low and midrange where you really use it. Its not worth the benefit in my opinion. Stick with the 112-114 LSA cams.
