what could it run?

i have an 85 t/a with a 383 and a 9 bolt with 3:70's. i ran a terrible 17.001 with my stock 305 w/ all my emissions, and 3:27's so i am curious how far my 7000 bucks will get me. here are the specs on the engine i have no idea what kind of power it has just yet, havent had it dyno'd but sure is fun to drive gas mileage sux but oh well its a sacrifice.

11:1 compression
2.02/1.60 64cc/200cc intake alum. heads
750cfm performer carb
performer rpm intake
stock 5.7 rods
.480/.480 lift 230/230 duration cam
edelbrock tes headers and 3" single mandrel bent exhaust hooker comp cat back exhaust with a hollowed cat

probably mid-low 12's depending on the launch.

what kind of tires you looking to run?? if you have slick-type DOT's that get hooked, then you should be looking at somewhere in the 12's.. look at my vbgarage to see my specs.. i ran a 12.41 with et drag radials, and 10.1:1 comp..

Seriously allot to consider, as said above tires? weight of your car? altitude of track? suspention? transmission(t5, tremec?), subframes?

all these will factor your possible times, I also will comment on the cam sellection you have made, it is a little bit small for what you have listed in specs/parts, the lift seems under the small side for such an engine combo, could use a little more duration also. I have yet to see what my 383 will do, but will let you know,

My specs are:

Scat crank (cast)
stock rods with arp bolts
speed pro hypers @ 9.6 to 1 with 64cc
stock vortec heads with personally ported and polished work
1.94-1.60 valves
comp cams xtreme energy flat tappet .490 lift 230-236 duration @.050
proform custom built holley
performer intake
hedman LTs

I have undersized the intake and retained the small valves and smaller cam due to the stock rods, I am scared i will break them, i have been told i will be fint with this setup, I am hoping for 400rwltq and let you know what the dyno sais.

i will be lookin to get a set of dot slicks since i do drive it on the street as a pleasure car and it will only see the track once in a while for fun. it is a 5 speed which i believe is considered a t5. i also have competition suspensiion sub frames as well and as far as weight it will be stock except for a fiberglass ram air II hood. i havent done anything to the suspension. what does everyone think about pushin 75 or 100 shot of wet or dry spray? would it be too much for what i have? just somethin ive been thinking about.
