So...oil pan replacement

What was just another routine oil change on my gf's car turned into the jack slipping off the crossmember into the center link and into the oil pan. Start the car and the crank hits the pan...great need a new pan and also a center link but thats not that big of a concern to me.

I am really not sure if im going to just pay a shop to do it or do it myself. My only really concern and discouragement is the old factory rusted y pipe. Im afraid that will be a challenge to disconnect from the manifolds. Does the y pipe have to come off or can i just disconnect it from the cat? Cat is new so i know the exhaust will come apart there. Other then this delimma the rest doesnt seem to hard just time consuming.

So what do you guys think, anyone with experiance who has done the same what do you suggest. AlldataPro says the labor is 2.7 hours which at $80 an hour lets just say about $220 for a shop. Im not even sure if thats what they charge or more.

Any input would be great, this absolutely blows.

Oh ya this is on a 305 TBI.

Axle/Gears: good question...
If its only gonna cost $220, have them do it. Unless of course thats out of your budget. It took me about 8 hours to change mine. You have to undo the motor mounts, y-pipe (which will probably break some of the studs) starter, and lift the engine up like 2-3inches. Not fun

The 2.7 hours is only what a computer repair program is telling me, im told thats what most shops go by around here, im going to have to wait till monday to call around.

$220 is affordable and more of what im willing to spend but that seems low to me.

Thanks for the quick reply.
