well I went out an bought a case of mobile one oil and the UNOPENED case was for 10W-30. well after I filled the motor with it I noticed that the bottles were 15W-50! CRAP! I really dont want to have to change it again, but I am hesitant to run it to long in the motor.

any advise? Or should I just bite the bullet and change it again back to 10W-30.

what kind of weather do you have there? your profile thingy says your running a 2.8L and if that so, i would not recomend that it be left like this in cold weather. that oild is as thick as molases in the summer time, so imagine what its like 10 below, then the little 2.8 trying to start cold with that. depending on how cold it is when you try to start it, you might want to consider avoiding the headaches/killing battery and startedby getting a more winter friendly oil (i'd almost be tempted to use 5w30 in the wintertime). good luck

I normally run 10W30 due to teh exact reasons Wootang stated. Im worried that it wil be to thick. regardless it is in there for at lest the next week. I might just get a new jug of 10W30 adn drain refil without changing the filter just to ease my mind. so far we have had a VERRY mild winter, but I expect that ittl start getting a bit colder here soon.

 

if you're worried about it drain it and save the oil for reuse in the summer.
