well anything thats a better replacement then the stock because mine isn't advancing right and its the o.e with about 200,000 miles on it and I think it might be time for a new one but I don't see any aftermarket ones or even stock ones listed in summit or thunderracing? do you know where I might be able to get an aftermarket one?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
There are DOZENS of replacement distributors for these cars available from Summit, Jeg's, TR, etc. etc. etc. Made by MSD, Accel, Mallory, and others.

None of the stock distributors for these cars "advances" at all.

They're all computer controlled. The computer handles that.

Changing out the distributor, whether to a stock one or an aftermarket replacement, won't change ANYTHING AT ALL about the advance curve.

What's REALLY going on here?

well it my dad and my boss at napa have both looked at my car and when they give it some gas it takes it like 2 secs to open up and they said that its not advancing right or not at all and they said it would help my car if I were to get one that does so I was trying to find one but I haven't seen any for the make and model of the car in summit or thunder racing. I was just looking to find out if any old msd distributor for a sbc 350 would work? I got the car by trading my dad for my 1938 ford pickup thats not finished and before I traded I got msd ignitions for it and I was also wondering if those might work on it we put a sbc 350 in it so everything should be swapable right?

I hope not; never heard of a distributor doing anything of the kind.

What kind of a car are we working on here? What induction system? What mods?
