How to remove crank sprocket
How do you take off the crank sprocket? Im having some trouble removing it. I went to autozone and got a timing gear puller thinking that was what I needed but that wont work. I went back and got a 3 jaw puller. Will that work? It doesn't feel like the sprocket wants to budge. Any help would be appreciated. Here is a pic of the tool.

I was about to say... I was scratching my head to figure out what you could have possibly done wrong since it looked hooked up right.

lol yeah. This is my first time doing this so I wasn't sure how much force I should use. Just wanted to make sure before I messed anything up. My bro got it so we are set. Can you believe that tool cost 75 bucks to rent from autozone! Im taking it back first thing tommorow morning.

you know when i had my first engine out (junk) i removed the harmonic balancer with a torch and hammer, then realized i could get a puller, either works.
PS:dont use a torch and hammer ever/

Removing the factory timing gear from the crank is easy providing you're not going to use it again. Find a tooth right above the keyway. Use a cold chisel and split the gear right there. The gear will fall off.
