92 RS

Just signed up today..great site!I read last week about another member with the same problem I am having with my 92 RS TBI..Has been running great up until a month ago(used only 3-4 times /year)The engine is very hard starting ,runs ok for a couple of minutes & then wants to stall out.RPMs drop way down ,chokes out but then kicks back in to normal idle..this is continuous..If I put it in gear it will stall if I don't feather it. Someone last week had the same problem..any ideas?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Does it run OK other than that?

Then it's probably just the IAC (idle air control) motor needing cleaned.

Does the IAC need to be replaced or can it be cleaned?

It can be cleaned. They rarely "go bad" to the point that cleaning is ineffective.

Post a how-to question on the TBI board. No doubt somebody over there can fill you in on the details.
