Starter Question

Finally I bought a new starter the other day and yesterday I was putting it in. It was easy to get to and took about five minutes to pull out. Unscrewed everything and there were two wires that connected to to screws on the starter. There was the cable that hooks to the negative battery and the cable that hooks to the switch terminal. when i got out from underneath to get the new starter I went back to find that there was the switch terminal missing. Like it dissapeared. searched for three hours and it is nowhere to be found. Can someone tell me where this wire leads to so i can trace it back??

Thanks, Andrew

Missing from where? What are the details are your car (year, model, engine, induction type, etc.)?

I can't say for sure about later 3rd gens or V6's, but there should be at least 3 wires going to the starter: The positive battery cable (not the negative as you said), the vehicle power wires behind that (same size eye, smaller wires), both on the large starter solenoid lug; and the small start circuit wire going to the small starter solenoid terminal closest to the engine.
