The infamous code 32
The infamous code 32
For a while now my car (2.8) would be pulling the code 32 (egr) every time i hit about 50, now recently when i give it light gas starting off the engine will rev, bog, rev, bog then will start off fine when i give it more gas. When it does this the engine light comes on with the code 32, would the EGR be doing this?
i replaced the valve and the hoses are fine. I was reading a good article here on the technical pages and it looks like the problem may be the intake is clogged as it has over 180,000 miles. They said to use a rifle brush but all the ones i can find are very short and the ones from the auto parts stores are just those toothbrush style ones i can't get in. Any ideas of where to get one that will work? or tips to cleaning out the intake?

EGR should be pretty close to closed on acceleration from 0. EGR really only comes into play during steady travel.

What a good explanation the above site has on EGR operation.
It doesn't have to be a rifle brush, you just need something to clean out the passages on both the metal tube and the plenum.
When you replaced the EGR valve did you notice much carbon buildup in the exhaust pipe?
Your vacuum modulator could be bad or EGR solenoid could be forcing the EGR open more than expected, causing the stumble.
