Weird braking behavior
Hi guys, first post here you really are a great bunch !
I was wondering if any of you could give me some pointers for my problem.
I have a 86 IROC LG4 + 700R4 (original AND beat-up, 170,000km)
I had it last spring and i had a couple of things fixed on it (manifold re-bolt, y-pipe, vacuum problems) but in the end of the summer the problem arose :
When i brake quite hard from about 35mph (55kmh) the engine wants to stall.
If i brake progressivly (grandma style) everything's good. It does not stall automaticaly, but even if the engine doesn't stop the rpm drops to about 500.
If you guys could give me some pointers i would know where to look first, my mechanic (last year) couldn't quickly find the problem, he even took it for a drive and told me he didn't experience the problem.
Thanx in advance !!
(i just read trough Derek and kurt's 82 restore and i'm inspired again to tackle a restore
)

Haven't tackled that problem myself but it sounds like you might have a vacuum problem in the brake booster. i am not for sure but I would probably start there.
