New Fuel Pump Question
Hey guys. I just replaced my fuel pump with a standard AC Delco replacement. The car starts and runs now, but the pump is makin a weird noise. When I switch on the ignition, the fuel pump primes as it should and then makes a new noise I've never heard before. Kinda sounds like a big creaky door. It does it after the car is turned off too. I was just wondering if this was normal before I put my rear end back in and all that. Thanks.

ya it normal, i put a new one in my car and was wondering the same thing. you probable never noticed it before because you weren't listening for it. it stays on after the car is to keep fuel pressure in the line to make easier starts.

No I've heard the fuel pump before. And I know for sure it has never made this noise. It's quite noticable.
*Edit*
Could it be the relay? Maybe giving the pump power after it's supposed to be shut off? I hear the relay clicking though...
