electric fuel pump

i have a 86 iroc z camaro and i need to know if it had the electric fuel pump in the tank or if its mounted somewhere under the body. my problem that i'm having is my fuel is shuting off and i'm thinking its due to this part.( anyone have any other ideas the cars fuel system shuts off at about 120 mph and then it kicks back in when your car glides to 115 mph)

i dont' really understand the fuel system in this so if anyone just wants to explain it all in a simple "understandable way" be my guest

okay in 1986 there were no provisions for a fuel shutoff at speed

so how many Rpms is the motor turning at 120 about 4800?
so there are three possiblitys

1 the car isnt really TPI but TBI and is running the TBI computer from a later model

2 the fuel pump cant supply enough volume at those RPMs to create combustion do to a clogged fuel filter or kinked line ect...

3 or you are experiencing the limitations of a stock TPI set up
----------
there isnt a speed limiter in an 86 IROC
