New Parts!

Just ordered parts to finish off my 383. I bought the AFR 210cc heads to go with a Lunati VooDoo mechanical roller cam with 249*/255* duration @.050 with .585"/.600" lift. Should be a pretty good setup once it's all on. Let me know what you guys think.

How high you plan on twising it? 6" rods? It'll be a screamer.

I was thinking 6" but I wasnt sure just yet. I was going to call AFR tomorrow and see what they would recommend for use with tgeir heads and that cam.

6" rod motor will want to be spun higher. I like to keep it low with a street car by using a shorter rod. My setup this year has 5.7" where I had 5.565" last year. Only reason for changing is that I couldn't get the piston I wanted for a 5.565 without spending the $$$ for a custom set. With the big 210cc heads and that cam the 6" rods will be a better combination. I would upgrade the valves in those heads to something lighter and use a stud girdle.

It already has 5.7 rods in the engine I was just thinking about 6 in. rods. I'll just leave it the way it is.

5.7 is better on the street IMO.
