EGR setup
I have a tpi controled by an accel 6. No EGR control. This is what I want to do.
Use ported vacuum to a EGR solonoid.
Run a wire from an engine temp switch to a relay to turn on the EGR solonoid.
The EGR should not work At idle, because of ported vacuum and would not work until engine is up to temp.
I know it sounds stupid. Does anyone have a better way of controling the ECR?
Engine has detonation problems and I am looking for diffrent ways to
control it.
Quench is .037
CR 10.3 with RPM heads
DCR 8.3 with XE268 comp cam at 2degs retared
I'm going to install.
170 deg stat
cold air intake
and one step colder plugs.

I'm not realy sure, can't check the part #'s now .I'll be in Mexico for another 6weeks before I return home to Fort Wayne.
With the pc hooked up you can see the advance being pulled out at about 4000 Rpm and the engine boggs down as if you hane reached an rpm limit.
I have a gear driven cam with rocker rollers. Don't think this is the problem
because retarding the dist. does help.

Sounds like a knock sensor problem. For instance if you have a 305 knock sensor on a 350 the computer will jack your timing to prevent "detonation" I had the wrong sensor on for a long time. It ran okay, but eventually it caught up to me.
