Engine hoist
Not "really" a general "engine" topic, but I suppose I'm not the only one in here who's had problems putting an engine hoist together ?
It's like always, you buy something made in China or wherever, expect alignment/fitment issues. One of the support bars is the problem. The bolt hole doesn't line up, so I have to either use a smaller bolt, or grind/enlarge the current hole, I think I'll just use a smaller bolt for now.

id start with calling the manufacturer, or go back to where you bought it, see wat they say. Tell them your concern, and say the hoist is not functional, and will be unsafe to use this way.

Well I need to use it though, been without a car for over a month now.
But I'll contact the manufacturer though.
Can't bring it back where I bought it, have no car to transport it in, this is my only vehicle

Tell them all that over the phone, and see what they say. Do not use it though, or modify it, it will void any warranties. The product "is not as advertised" or described on the box, because simply it doesnt fit together, they should exchange it.
How did you get it to your place in the first place anyway?

By taking a cab, damn cab company charged me an extra $20 transportation fee, boxes *smirk*
Yeah if I use it for now I'll just use a different bolt, it looks like the support bar may have gotten bent during packing, just a bit, but enough to cause this problem.
