300 hp with a 86 transam?

i have a 1986 transam with a chevy 350. i was wondering what the cheapest and easiest way to get 300+ HP. its automatic.

Whats your setup? Carb,TPI? Is it a stock 350?

its carb. with 305 h.o headers. no exhaust except thursh glasspacks connected to the headers. and i think stock 350 it was in there when i bought it. and q-jet carb.

Engine: 355 w/ ported 416s

Transmission: T10, hurst shifter

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73

350 was not stock on the '86 TA. So god only knows what's in that motor eh? Try to figure out what's in it. Ask previous owner, etc. Pull off the valve covers and see what cylinder head casting #'s it shows.

305 ho headers? That doesn't really mean anything, what headers are on it? Shorties? Long tubes? Brand?

Cam and heads is the cheapest way to get over 300HP. Who knows where you're at now though right?
