v-belt on l-98

I want to get rid of all my accessories on front of engine except w.p. & alt.
I want to run the w.p. off an electric motor system like found in summit.
so the only belt i will need goes from the crank to the alt.

#1 - with the same size pulley thats on the crank now the belt will not clear the w.p. so can i go w/ a smaller pulley & not affect the alt.?

#2 - is this a long water pump or short ?

#3 - anyone done this before & have P#'s ?

i still have the tpi , alt. on drivers side , just trying to lose some weight & gain some .10ths mike

I'll take a shot at this one.

Doesn't matter.

Get a stand-alone billet system that included brackets, pulleys & belt for use on an electric water pump system.

I had an idea the water pump didnt matter , but wanted to be sure .
I have been looking at the billet kits and all I see are kits w/ the wp pulleys included which i dont need , not to mention the price . I am looking at the march alt bracket and maybe try the jy for some pulleys . looks arent important yet.

thanks for your help . I will post info when i am done

If you use any of your existing pulleys, they are long pump style, so your billet pulleys would have to be that style as well. If you get a full set, it shouldn't matter.

Or you could just foget about the belt entirely by using an electrically driven alternator to match your electrical water pump.

Just kidding.
