quick question?
hey guys
alright the current motor i have in my car (305 TPI) sat in my garage opened up for a couple weeks, when i put it back in it had some serious issues. as far as i can tell the piston rings are shot. i'm asuming this is from the moisture that got in the motor while it was open?
anyways on to the question. buddy of mine has a 305 that came out of his 79 Z28, and its been sitting on an engine stand for a while with no heads on it. and it was turned over by hand a couple times. my question is would any of you see a problem with throwing heads and an intake on it and running it? of would you get it re-ringed/ gone through first?

Okay listen up, this is very important. I have done exactly what you are planning on doing two times. Both ended up with ill effects. I recommend you spend money on a 350 since it will be worth it and the same price to rebuild.
You do not know the real condition of the motor unless you magnafluxed the internals and etc.
Like I said I did this twice. I should have learned the first time and I didn't.
If you cannot afford to do it right the first time, can you afford to do it again?
I am sure you will make the right choice dude.
