jumping for codes

ok ive been on here for more than an hour looking for instructions on how to jump the port, I know you use a paperclip but I dont know witch terminals

Short the top right two. Turn the key, it will blink 12, 3 times then the codes.

i hope i didnt fry my computer someone told me it was the two top outside ones

i guess not because it just brings out 12 code so the it shuld be ok but my car still doesnt start
