engine drop in question

Car: 1982 Berlinetta Camaro
Engine: 2.8 Litre
Transmission: not sure/tubro hydramatic 208?
Axle/Gears: not sure
engine drop in question
so if i drop a 3.1 1989-1996 somewhere in that range in my car any chevy 3.1 will fit? and if not what sort of modifications will i need to likley, or possibly make to get it to work?
