New to 3rdGen.org. Love it. Just bought my 2nd Bird- 87Formula, chipped, posi, accel ignition module/wires, 2000rpm stall, catback Flowmaster, subframe connectors, jr shift kit

350 TPI engine, 1987. Recently installed a custom air intake. Obviously kept the MAF in order and didnt change anything else. Car has idled poorly ever since. It will start, idle, then stall out. Checked for leaks and made sure no other problems. Checked the TPS reset to spec. Reset computer and drove the car for 15-20 miles with no change. Dont know what to do!

 

Check for vacuum leaks again...

Check EVERY hose and connection; especially check your center intake area. Common for small chevy is also to have a vacuum leak on the underside of the intake and sucking in oil vapors from the lifter valley.

Take off the oil cap and see if you feel significant vacuum when you put your hand over it...

 

So, start and check that vac while running? Ill let you know. Anything else you can think of?
