do i reset the computer by removing the neg cable from the battery? if so how long? i have been told i need to take it to a dealer to have done thanks

 

if its a 91 then just disconnect either cable doesnt matter which for a little while,

i like to disconenct both and hold them together for a little bit to neutralize any power that there may be in the car by chance

this is how they tell you to do it in the later years cars with the crazy security systems and such


then check for any codes other than code 12


if theres a code other than 12 then it didnt work and may not work, something bad may be wrong
