oil pan leak :(

My dad and i just took the motor outa my car to put in new gaskets.. and now when i run it it drips outa the oilpan on the right side in front..
it leaks when the vavlecover beather is in and the pvc valvle is hooked up to my air filter.. but if i take the beather of it stop leaking...

why would it do this, its a cheap beather... should the pvc valve not be hooked to the air filter?
just need some input.. heh thanks

btw my dad put the oil pan gasket on so i dont know if it is right for sure or not..

The PCV valve is supposed to be hooked up to a vacuum port in the front of the carb. It's in the driver's side valve cover.

The "replenish" air connection goes from the pass side valve cover to the air cleaner; it gets fresh filtered air to replace contaminated air that the PCV valve removes.

I would recommend getting rid of the "breather" crap and putting it back like it belongs.

If you hacked the smog pump off of your car, make sure there's a bolt in the upper one of the 2 bolt holes on the front of the block, pass side, right next to the balancer.
