stock heads?

I have a 1990 camaro iroc-z 350 ...

Did the stock heads come angel'd or straight plug'd ? I seen a few posts and mine are straight ... but thought i seen the l98 came angel'd ....

The books i have i can't seem to find any spec's on the cam/heads ... i'd like to just buy a new pair of heads or just have the stock heads machined if they'd perform to par ...

Also the edlebrock victor jr 23 degree heads, would they be a good option for basing a build for a torque monster?

Re: stock heads?

not sure if there straight heads or not, check the casting numbers to be sure, should be 083 if there stock and cast iron not aluminum

Re: stock heads?

Ok, i've confirmed that they are the stock heads, i'm having rocker issues with them staying tight .... springs/rods and rockers all looked ok ... other than being stock .. i'd like to possibly dump some funds into a nice set of heads, that way adding a cam later to match "or should that be done at the same time" the heads.

Or would looking at new valvetrain parts such as rockers/rods and spring on the stock heads ? ....

If the heads are completely stock, then you are probably pulling the stock pressed in studs out of the heads.

Not that I've ever seen or heard. Pulling the head required to avoid chips in the engine.

Shouldn't be anything wrong with the rockers. Although it could be the rocker or rocker ball or pushrod or adjusing nut not locking causing the problem.

Press-in stud pulling out is a pretty good bet, though.
