Some kind of underhood noise

Sometimes when I am getting on it I hear a grinding/clicking nosie from under the hood. It sounds like something is hitting the fan, but I've checked and there is nothing that could possibly be hitting the fan. Any ideas on this? I've heard it when datalogging and the ECM did not pick up any knock counts.

might check the flywheel bolts for proper torque
