Engine: 305 TPI 5.0L

1990 firebird trans am

I have issues with my car already. I like it but sometimes it runs pretty good and then like today, the rpm's fluctuate and the car lunging almost wanting to stall. Thought tranny but I'm thinking something to do with the fuel or I dont know. My car is kinda slow considering it looks pretty fast. NE1 no of any probs that i just described? Also its 305 TPI all stock, what is some easy mods or tuning to get better HP and performance? Also anyone have a 1990 Spoiler around for sale? Thanks any help is great.
