Heads and cam advice on 305 TBI

Hi i am getting a set of TPI heads off a 88 z28 i will give them a nice port and polish job, these are direct bolt ons for a 91 TBI 305 right? Ok this brings me to the most important part, the factory roller cam, i plan on getting tbichips to burn me a chip after i get done with all my mods, so my question is does any one make a cam that will work fine with the factory chip but later when i get the chip burnt really start to shine? my goal is only low to mid 14.s and staying over 25 mpg. and last question is if i leave the factory cam alone and just change the heads what kinda power gains should i get?

That's an L03 engine right? The heads will bolt right on, you will need to use center bolt valve covers on those heads. I don't know if the intake manifold on a TBI will bolt up to TPI head, but I suspect that it would. You should replace the valve springs on the TPI heads.

You'll probably want to get a roller cam from Crane or Comp. Over 25 MPG too.... hmmm, I'd think that would mean sacrificing power gain for MPG. I'd think that just changing heads won't give you the power you're looking for, you'll need a cam swap too. Did you install a performance exhaust yet? Headers? CATBack? Auto trans or manual?
What gears do you have? What are the stock cam specs?

Do a search and you'll probably find most of your answers....

mods done= 3 inch cat back, 3.23 gears, larger aircleaner, adjustable fuel pressure mod. mods left to do = headers and Y pipe, heads, (cam??) its a 700r4 tranny, i might change stall converters to, and after these are done i plan on a chip from tbichips.

The 081s are actually no better than the 187s stock for stock and really are no better in ported form either.

really? the swirl port junkers are as good as tpi heads? well at least the tpi ones can be ported and polished alot better then the swirl ports do.
