Rough Idle...
Just trying to get some ideas for troubleshooting a rough idle.
Pretty mild non-CC Q-jet 350. 305 heads and flat-tops, so high compression.
Blew out the lower radiator hose a few days back and overheated fairly badly. Car idled extremely smoothly before it happened, but has a rather erratic idle since, along with a loss of power. Also seems to be running hotter than usual since.
The plug wires are pretty new, don't look to be damaged in any way, so probably ok.
Just put in a set of new AC Delco pre-gapped plugs after the overheating, as I needed new plugs anyway. I'm planning on pulling them my next day off and checking the gap to be sure.
I've spent a fairly good amount of time fine tuning the ignition timing and idle mixture on the Q-jet.
Just looking for more troubleshooting ideas. Anything I've missed here? Obviously there are many more ignition parts that could be replaced trying to fix the problem, but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
