Popping fuel out of carb, why?

'85 El Camino, fresh 350, Quadrajet, HEI.

Actually drove it in a circle and back to the driveway.

Anyways it's popping a bit and spitting fuel out the carb. I have the base timing at 10*, I might bring it back to 8*, I don't know.

I have one last vac line I don't know where the hell it goes so I have it capped off right now. It wasn't hooked to anything when I got the car either.

I'll double-check the firing order. When I plug the distributor back in, I should show timing a bit higher than 10* right?
