please help

I have a mild 350 it makes a rattling noise i thinks its knocking maybe but I'm not sure its done the exact same thing before but it went away and for some reason when i removed the pcv valve for a day it got louder but when i just tried to put the breather back in for a minute just to see if itd quite down it did i think it might have to do with the timing maybe??? but what does pre-ignition sound like. By the way my timing chain cover is leaking kinda bad but i have a new one to replace it do you think it might have sumthin to do with the problem maybe without the pcv it lets the crankcase pressure build up and replace the oil pressure im losing but according to the stock oil pressure gauge im still gettin about 60 psi with the pcv valve. Wuts a spun bearing sound like? But I am new to this and im not sure wut to think sounds like rebuild time to any1. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advanced. Oh yea my setup is a 350 out of a 89 camaro i have 71 lt1 heads, Edelbrock RPM Air-gap intake with a 2" spacer, holley 750 with vacuum secondaries, heddman fulllength headers, MSD 6AL, stock cam, Borg Warner WC T5, 3.73's

Re: please help

pick up a book and do some reading. find a buddy that can help you if at all possible..
Take one thing at a time.
1.) pvc valve really should be left installed and working. oil pressure and pvc where are you going with this?
2.)pinging sounds alot like marbles rolling around in your motor and will do this under a load if this is the case.
3.)leaking timing cover has to do with oil leaking and thats it.
4.)spun bearing will be a steady clunking or knocking at the same interval at a steady rpm.
5.) do you have a timing light? check it if you do but i doubt the knocking if at idle would cause this.
check your headers are they leaking? check your rocker adjustment.
try to get an experienced buddy to assist you. its hard when your their and we are here. Dont get in over your head. I been their myself its not pleasant. but once you get a general understanding things will go smooth for you its all about learning...
