Idleing problem after header/exhaust install

So today i finally finished installed my Hooker 2055 headers, Y pipe, Cat-co high flow cat, and 3 in Hooker cat-back exhaust. System sounds awesome! But, now i seem to have a problem. When i start the car, cold or hot, doesnt matter, the idle is extremely rough. It acts like there is a extremely lopey cam, and it idleing like this for about 5-10 seconds. I also noticed some small puffs of black smoke from the exhaust pipes during this time and a real nasty rich exhaust smell. After about 10 seconds, the idleing straightens back up for the most part, still a little surgey every now and then. This problems throws a SES light on right from startup. While im driving the car, i noticed that the idle likes so stay up around 2000rpm at dead stops, kinda annoying lol. I have a 91 RS, 305 TBI if that helps. And oh ya, i did put a new O2 sensor in so i dont think it would be that. What does everyone think?

Re: Idleing problem after header/exhaust install

I dont beleive so, i was VERY careful unplugging the old O2 sensor. Its weird though because last night i drove the car and it was fine. The only thing i noticed was a major tick under acceleration, so this morning i pulled the copper gasket off the driver side header and installed one of the gaskets that Hooker sent with the header. Waa laa, no more tick, but now i have this major idleing problem. What would cause it to act up this morning and not last night??
