Car Running Badly

I put a brand new 350 in my camaro last month. It has a 750 Holley and a Holley Street Dominator intake. I am also using an Accel coil with Accel wires.

Now on to the problem. No matter how I adjust the carb, timing, or the fuel pressure the car seems to have no power. I figured with it being a new motor it should have tons. The car bogs really bad and sometimes backfires. It won't spin above 3500RPM and it struggles to make it that far.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do?

What did you use for a harmonic damper? Where is the timing tab on the front cover?

Re: Car Running Badly

The harmonic balancer I used was a Fluidampr Streetdampr 6-7/8'' O.D.

When you mean where the timing tab is do you mean where is it physically or liek timing wise?

Re: Car Running Badly

How big of a cam are you running, a 750 sounds like a lot of carb especially if its a DP, im going to be running one on my new engine and i think it may be a little much
