I have a 87 Irocz, and when i turn the key to the ON position the fuel pump turns on for a second to two. THEN if i hit the brakes the fuel pumps turns on for a sec or two. It does this every time i hit the brakes. Is this normal????? Thanks Shane.

 

Sounds a bit goofy but probably nothing to worry about...

Theirs alot of ways to make electronics do funny stuff from feedback.

Back in school we had a chevette that i figured out how to make the windshield wipers move with the turn signals by turning on certain combinations of things...

 

no that is not normal and shouldnt happen what have you played with under the dash recently?

 

Well the only thing i can think of is: i took aout all the lights behind the gauges because i instaled glow gauges, code alarm about 4 years ago, and 2 auto meeter gauges in the A piller also about 2 years ago.



I FOUND A BAD GROUND. THIS IS WHAT IT DOES NOW: TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION, FUEL PUMP TURNS ON FOR A SEC. OR TWO,

NOW IF I HIT THE BRAKE IT TURN ON ONE TIME, IS THAT NORMAL TO DO THAT ONE TIME??? BEFORE THE FUEL PUMP CAME ON EVERY TIME I HIT THE BRAKES.
