what's are the odds it still works right?

Tomarrow I'm going to pick up a 350 for my TA. it came out of a 78 chevy pickup. ran great before it was pulled about 3 years ago. since then it's been sitting on the floor of a garage out of the elements, unmoved...I'm planning on rebuilding it...although, recent events with my 305 have forced my rebuild from this fall to now. but I havn't finished gathering all my parts for the rebuild. Do you guys think that there is any chance that the engine will still run decent, just for the next couple months? It's not seized up, I was able to turn the crank fairly easily with a breaker bar on the balancer. what do ya think?

i think there's a pretty good chance that it'll run, but i would change the oil and prime the oil system before you try to run it. sitting for 3 years there's a pretty good chance all the oil has sunk to the bottom of the engine.and most of the topend is dry

Picked up the engine this morning, put some fresh oil in it, gave it some fuel, and hooked up the starter to a battery. The engine ran, rough, but ran. Although...I was told it was 350, but when I checked the casting number turns out it's a 305...oh well, at least it was free.
