Noise issue with engine or exhaust system

When I drive around with slight pressure on the gas pedal, I hear a metallic rattle noise, and if I lift my foot just a little, the noise goes away. Only to return if a press on the gas pedal again. The wife says it reminds her of a slinky (now I am showing my age). The noise mainly seems to be coming from the pass side near the firewall/engine compartment.

I know that this is not much to go on. I have done extensive mods to the car. The most recent change was bolting on Skute adapters and 4th gen aftermarket wheels. But in this case, if its the new wheels/adpaters, why would the noise come and go with gas pedal pressure, and its only on one side.

What does an spun engine bearing sound like?

What does a bad wheel bearing sound like?

Re: Noise issue with engine or exhaust system

Could it be the headers just barely hitting the A-Arm?

Re: Noise issue with engine or exhaust system

Doc,
I usualy bring the car in the garage, apply emerg brake, roll windows down, start engine & power brake a little to see if I can get the noise to happen. This may help pinpoint the location. Could be a rotted heat shield around the cat rattling. Entice a friend to help with a cold libation and your problem may be located.
