Built a 383 with a Gen I 1972 block and Vortec heads. Anyone know if I can use a belt drive alternator setup with the Vortecs? Was trying to avoid a serpentine arrangement. What about short or long water pumps on this? I don't have the engine here it's about 550 miles from here at shop in San Antonio. Wanted to know others experience with Vortecs and alternator setups so I get the right parts the first time. Thanks.
