Read about Mustang Owners removing Silencers.

Can we do this? Is it good, bad, long to do?

I heard it gives you a deep exhaust note....

Deep exhaust note? I don't think so.

But removing them wouldn't hurt any.

(I believe you're talking about the silencers / baffles under the air intake snorkel)

Re: Removing Silencers?
Yea, he's talking about in the intake duct. We don't talk about it because we don't really have them. Well, I think it's called something else, not a silencer. And for the life of me the name is escaping me... Only on TPI engines IIRC. (airfoil?)

Or if you meant in the exhaust, you mean the resonator? Some fords had resonators, like a secondary muffler. Any removal of exhaust restrictions is a good thing for power, but we don't have resonators stock on our cars.
