intake leak. help!!!

intake leak. help!!!

i have a stroker small block wth a professional products aluminum intake and i cant get the front of it to not leak. what kind of gap are you supposed to have between the intake and the block? o yeah i am not using the rubber gaskets that come with the gasket kit and i have used several diff types of rtv and i just cant seem to get it right. what do you guys think?

ideally as small a gap as possible, I usually use a liberal amount of permatex high-tack or equivalent, but with used, pitted intakes sometimes I've had to use RTV around the water passages. Make sure you have a continuous bead around the water passage, and that there isn't some weird surface imperfections on the head or intake.
