383 build help.

Im about to start building a 383, and Im looking for a block to start the project. My question is, Can I build this out of a 2 bolt main, or do I need to get the 4 bolt main for a stroker. Thanks

Re: 383 build help.

You use either, the theory is that a 2 bolt can handle around 500 hp, and a 4 bolt can handle a bit more. The best thing to do would be to buy a 2 bolt block and get splayed main caps, but you have to align bore it. If you do not have a block already why not try to find a 400 block and build a 406 or bigger.

You can, but it's a lot of money, and not really necessary for a street engine.
